2 Bash 2 Future!

2 Bash 2 Future!

In a world void of your typical life pressures amazing things tend to happen. Things we remember forever. For example, your childhood - No worries and tons of fun memories. I'm sure you can name a few times in your life when there were no worries. I know we all have a piece of that inner child still around that begs to let everything go and just have fun no matter what.

Grassroots drifting has no pressure (accept tire and boost!). No competition, no money, no hierarchy - just have fun! To me that is what makes grassroots drifting so great. When I received my confirmation email for 2 Bash 2 Future it came with 3 rules.

1 - Don't get hit by cars
2 - Don't have a bad time
3 - Don't suck

I think I can handle that!

For those of you that don't have a clue as to what 2 Bash 2 Future is I do apologize because you are missing out on Oregon's (and honestly probably the whole west coast's) best grassroots drifting event. The Southern Oregon Karters have been nice enough to let us rent their track at the Jackson County Sports Park just outside of Medford Oregon for a two day drifting "Bash" twice now.  Joe and Justin of Tandem of Die organize this event and do an amazing job! This event has drawn people from Port Angeles Washington to Las Vegas to Phoenix Arizona and everywhere in-between. It costs a whopping $75 to drift for both days - $50 if you drove further than 100 miles! You can't beat that!!  No event comes close.

Enough rambling already! On to the Pictures!
Nicole and I hit I-5 south at "Ludacris Speed" from Portland Friday afternoon after work (click an ad so maybe I can start doing this full time!)

The sun rises EARLY in Medford this time of year...

and coffee is the only known remedy for that.

Last year the temps were pushing 100 degrees so the forecast of 85 was very welcome
The track heated up quickly despite that forecast!

I was glad to see that Joe Tardiff and some of the "Team Burn The Most" guys made it up from CA.

The Bavarians made a strong showing as usual.

Got stickers?  This "Zero"ed RS Subi does!  Missing mine tho!

Mad man Matt Coffman made tons of smoke... no surprise there

At last years event Bash 2 the Future, Craig Alexander and Matt made some of the most beautiful tandem runs I have ever witnessed. What makes it crazy is that Craig's AE86 has a 4aget that has just under 200 horsepower and I believe Coffman is somewhere in the neighborhood of 800... Either way, their driving styles match and they put on one hell of a show!

Corey is also instrumental in the organization of this event and one hell of a guy.

This year Hoonigan donated a bunch of swag and $200 for a team tandem competition. The course layout was changed and the fun began!

The judges quickly narrowed the teams down

Joe Tardif and Crick Filippi took 1st place with Craig Alexander and Matt Coffman coming in 3rd

wait... is this NASCAR?

The force is strong with the AE86 'rollas!

Golden hour at this track in the summer really can't be beat!!

At the end of the day (both days...lol) I feel confident in saying that EVERYONE had a great time. I didn't see one frown on the track or in the crowd. It's always good seeing old friends and making new. I can't thank Joe, Justin, Corey, Medford Cruize, all of the volunteers, the Southern Oregon Karters, and everyone that came out nearly enough. I really can't.  Events like this are rare and difficult to make happen so THANK YOU!   Here's to next year!
There will be a photodump on my FB page so make sure to see the rest there! --> ShutterMeShort Photography

I want to thank all of my friends that support my dream. I have met so many awesome people and been to so many amazing places thanks to my camera. I really don't know what I would do without my camera, friends, and our adventures. I travel to these events and keep up all of my equipment 100% out of my own pocket. This is passion in its purest form. That being said, when you click on an ad on this page I get a small kickback so PLEASE click away! Any attention on any social media helps too. If you want to be a real superstar I also take donations at my paypal! shuttermeshort@me.com  Every little bit counts! Again THANK YOU ALL!!!!
