Hellaflush 8 – Venice Beach

Welcome to Hellaflush - where function means nothing and form is everything.  The less drivable it is - the better.  The cleaner the modifications - the better.  Basically, if it's slammed to the ground, has excessive camber, and can only fit two playing cards between the wheel and fender then you win.  :)  These cars are very unique to say the least and the culture that surrounds them is amazing.  The annual LA meet is held in Venice Beach (well, technically Santa Monica) and is the largest of all of Hellaflush's events.

My good friend Ezekiel from Automotive Styles (<--That means to go check out his pics too!) picked me up shortly after 6am and we headed to the beach.  We arrived an hour and a half early and the parking lot was full by the time the event technically started - That means over 800 cars showed up before 9am.  While most everyone was waiting in line to pay for parking, two Santa Monica police officers decided it was worth their while to start issuing tickets in the entrance to the event for petty crap such as front license plate violations.  I am not going to spend much time ranting about how wrong this was of them but I will say this...  You showed your true colors today and we will not forget.  If you are going to enforce a law like this, EVERY person that breaks it needs to get a ticket.  Your blatant profiling will not be had.  Your actions created a traffic jam that held up people outside of the event that wanted nothing to do with it.  You officers were in the wrong.  Thank you for serving and protecting us with our hard earned tax dollars.  This is exactly why we need you...   Other then this un-tidy group of little fascists, the event was AMAZING.  Photos are worth 1,000 words so ill shut up now and let the photos do the talking.
