America's Last Free Market: A Day at Venice Beach

People watching is something that I really enjoy.  You can do it most anywhere and the best part is that it’s free!   You can do it most anywhere and every location is unique: Movie theaters, beach, airports, restaurants......Some of my very good friends and I headed to Venice Beach California today to hang out and do whatever sounded good on a moment by moment basis.  We grabbed the camera and skateboards and headed West until we found this!
Venice Beach is special to me because this little town is not just full of color, passion, art, beautiful views, and fun in most any direction but It is as real as it gets.  It is certainly one of the few true free markets left today and displays a raw image and full palate of cultural differences and similarities.   The art is influenced not necessarily by what sells but by the individual and their surroundings and life.  The artists set their own prices and every one of them unique in their own way.  No matter what you do, there really isn't any competition.   If you love dancing, you can dance everyday that you want to.  Not only that, but you can dance to any music and any way you like.  Venice Beach is the place you go to do pretty much whatever you want.  Welcome to the free world!  Enjoy!
