ON POINT: XDC Xtreme Drift Circut finals, Phoenix AZ

             As another hot day in Phoenix Arizona comes to an end and the relentless sun sets over Firebird International Raceway, the drifters come out in full force.  Xtreme Drift Circuit is a newer drifting circuit  and is doing it right!  With a great mix of pro's and amateurs coming from all over the globe as far as Russia and Japan, it's hard to go wrong.  Most of the drifters are "privateers" who use their personal vehicles typically funded by their own means.  No major support other than the determination and

willingness to earn their own glory!  It doesn't get any more real then this boys and girls!

Jeff Jones, in the monster that is the BMI Racing 4-rotor Mazda RX-8, took the top qualifier spot, with DeNofa qualifying second, George Marstonovic third, and Will Parsons fourth.  In the consolation, DeNofa put a cap on his championship season by defeating Jones to finish third. In the final, Ovcharik defeated Cyr and took his first victory of the season.  All in all it was a pretty exciting night!  Due to overwhelming support throughout the season from spectators and sponsors, XDC is planning thirteen events in 2011 – a seven event drifting championship, and six standalone car shows. An announcement on the schedule will be made in the coming weeks.  I highly recommend checking one of them out next season!
